Frequently Asked Questions

Prospective clients can visit the home at any time – either by dropping in at their convenience or by telephoning beforehand, an appointment can be made if the person wishes but generally people are advised that they can visit anytime that suits them. Staff will then make themselves available to take details/complete an enquiry form and show visitor around the home. This occurs any time over the 7 day week period.
As for friends and families of our residents, we have an open visitation policy so you can drop in whenever you want, all that we ask is that you sign in and out.
Immediately. As soon as an enquiry is made then the process commences with client details etc which can take as little as a working week.
This depends on the client circumstances and type of care they are requiring and also the category of care needed.
Residential care can be paid by:
1) social services contract with client contribution/social services payment
2) Private – client contribution only
Nursing care can be:
1) social services contract with client contribution/social services contribution / FNC payment
2) Continuing care – fully funded
3) FastTrack – fully funded – end of life care
4) Private contract – client contribution/FNC payment

Adult social care direct are the first point of contact and will take details of prospective clients, then refer to social workers who will assess financial / heath and care needs to agree type of placement required.

We are able to provide rooms for married couples but this does depend on category of care for area of living and what rooms are available at the time, however we would try to accommodate.
Nurses have their own NMC Pin number which is checked yearly Senior staff have NVQ level 2 and 3. Care staff have NVQ level 2 or are expected to achieve this during their employment.

We have a beautiful garden area with patio furniture and, weather permitting, resident can use these facilities. Families can take clients out for the day if they wish. Trips out can be arranged to Dobbies, we often drive to beach for fish n’ chips and conduct trips for small groups to attractions such as the Sea life centre.
