Craigielea offers twenty four hour care by trained, professional
staff who liaise with health and social care professionals to ensure
that residents receive the care they need. Chief Executive Susan Jones,
MBA, FCMI, looks after both Homes, and nursing care is directed by Deborah
Doran, RGN. Pat Hillary is manager of Craigielea Lodge, our residential
care home. Craigielea has an excellent catering team under the direction
of Head Chef Paul Bell. Meals are varied with daily choices available,
and special diets catered for. The team of housekeeping and laundry
staff look after both Homes and provide full laundry service.
We believe that it is very important to maintain links within the local
community, and that residents should have access to regular activities
and this is managed by Yvonne Mulholland, our full time Activities Co-ordinator.
Yvonne arranges daily activities, weekly events and special seasonal
entertainment. She also organises outings in our own minibus to places
of local interest, theatres, concerts, garden centres and lunches. She
also works on a one-to-one basis with residents.
Amenities available to residents include wide screen TVs with Sky, a
large CD and DVD library, large-print books, a visiting library and
pianos in the two main lounges. The large gardens are easily accessed,
and outdoor events are held whenever the weather is kind. We have our
own hairdressing salon, and a visiting hairdresser takes appointments
on a weekly basis – this service is free of charge. Representative of
local Churches visit regularly and Services are held in the two main
lounges.
